Coordinator of Communications
Ricky Austin serves as Coordinator of Communications for the Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE). A 2005 graduate of the University of Notre Dame in the Program of Liberal Studies and Computer Applications, Ricky earned his Master of Education degree from the Alliance for Catholic Education's Teaching Fellows program in 2007. He taught 2nd grade and served as the school's IT administrator at Rosary Catholic School in Oklahoma City before taking a position as a teacher and, eventually, Director of Technology at St. Hilary School in the North Side of Chicago. Ricky also served as chair of the Chicago ACE Advocates region during his time in the windy city.
A native of Southern California, Ricky and his family returned to Notre Dame in June 2010 when he joined the ACE Advocates for Catholic Schools staff as an assistant director. In 2013, Ricky became coordinator of the ACE communications team, and now leads a team of communications specialists who work to change the traditional narrative and misconceptions facing Catholic schools. The team is responsible for ACE's public relations, marketing, recruiting, and digital/interactive communications efforts.
